Path system Piteå-Älvsbyn

The demand for hiking and cycling is increasing and with it the need for well-planned trails. Therefore, a comprehensive inventory of 30 miles of possible trail routes in the municipalities of Piteå and Älvsbyn was conducted. The work was done through village walks and meetings in collaboration with 14 villages, which laid the foundation for a detailed development plan with loops for both hikers and cyclists.

In addition to the planning work, an accessibility-adapted boardwalk and a floating bridge were built to increase accessibility to nature experiences. The project also produced digital map material in GIS and Google Maps, which provides a valuable basis for future investments.
