How the projects are assessed
The board assesses the projects and makes decisions based on its collective expertise. Projects are assessed in different stages, regardless of what type of project you are applying for.
Note! From November 27, 2025, we will use new supplementary guidelines to prioritize incoming project applications as there is a limited budget remaining. Read more below.
Is it a leader project?
First, we always look at whether it is a leader project.
Does the project build on the leader method, that is, is local anchoring, initiative, and engagement at the center?
Is the fundamental idea that the development of your place
is carried out most effectively by you who live and work there with as
a common thread in the project?

our overarching principles?
Our work is based on our overarching principles:
- Sustainable development
- Equal treatment and non-discrimination
- Gender equality between women and men
We work with sustainable development and we will together counteract discrimination and promote equal rights and opportunities.
This is something we want you to do as well.
Does the project meet
our basic conditions?
We have six basic conditions that all projects must meet.
You can read more about them here and check off if you assess
that you meet them. The board will then make its own assessment
and justify it.

Selection criteria that
are scored.
When you have reached this point, your project will be scored based on three general criteria and two area-specific criteria. With the help of the criteria, the projects that can best contribute to the goals
in our local development strategy can be selected.
To be granted support, you need to score 400 points out of 1000 possible and you need to score points in at least one of the area-specific criteria.

Things to consider
The board should be able to make the assessment when they read your application; there needs to be explicit information that supports that you meet the criteria. This ensures clarity and transparency.
