Land meets city – continued development of business life/entrepreneurship in Luleå's northern municipality

In order to take advantage of the positive development in the Råneå area and strengthen entrepreneurship in Luleå's northern municipality, Luleå Business Region started a project with local business developers on site. The ambition was to give local entrepreneurs better opportunities to develop, grow, find new collaborations, and at the same time build stronger ties between rural areas and urban centers.

During the course of the project, three new companies were started, several existing businesses have received support to take the next step, and women have gained increased representation in the business network. A REKO ring has been established in collaboration with local actors and led to more local products reaching consumers in the surrounding area. Two companies have moved into municipal premises and new ideas in tourism and food production have been developed. The project has also contributed to concretizing Luleå Municipality's development plan for Råneå and its surroundings.
