Bredåkers baking cottage 2.0

In order for more to be able to bake, meet, and create new traditions in the village, Bredåkers' historic bakery will be renovated. The current standard makes the venue difficult to use year-round, and many refrain from renting because both ergonomics and hygiene need to be improved.

The bakery is an important part of the village's cultural heritage, but also a possible platform for new ideas. Through the project, Bredåkers' housewives' association aims to modernize the venue with energy efficiency, a kitchenette, accessible entrance, and new counter spaces. At the same time, a timber-framed grill area is being built to make it easier to gather outdoors, regardless of the season.

To strengthen the association's entrepreneurial mindset, a recipe collection with traditional bread recipes is being developed, along with new ideas for sales, rentals, and courses. The project will also test different price levels and design strategies for future operations. The goal is a vibrant meeting place where both baking joy and community spirit can grow – in everyday life and during crises.
