More reasons to visit in Pite älvdal – Meal tourism

To highlight food as a travel reason and create more experiences in Pite älvdal, five farms have participated in a development project around meal tourism. The goal was to strengthen the tourism industry, increase collaboration, and give rural businesses more legs to stand on. Through self-inventories, coaching conversations, and matchmaking, each farm was able to develop a concrete five-year plan for its development.

The results are already visible: A farm in Långnäs is planning farm camps, accommodation for tourists, and a themed café. Another has started with home concerts featuring locally produced snacks, and in Sikfors, there is an investment in a farm shop and charcuterie. The project has also led to new networks, collaborations, and increased knowledge about how different personality types and needs affect entrepreneurship.

In the coaching, many of the perceived obstacles have been made visible and concretized, making them easier to handle. This, in turn, has given participants the courage to think anew, make decisions, and start realizing their ideas.
