Norrbottnian building preservation in practice

About the project

In order for more to gain knowledge and tools to care for and renovate older buildings in a sustainable way, Älvsby folkhögskola is carrying out the project Norrbottnian building preservation in practice. The interest in building preservation has increased while both knowledge and actors in the field have become fewer. Here lies an important opportunity to take advantage of traditions, materials, and methods that risk being lost otherwise.

During the project, building preservation camps, intensive courses, and lectures are organized where participants can learn more about how to renovate and preserve buildings with a Norrbotten character. By testing different working methods and involving local actors, a platform for further education and inspiration is created.
