Strengthened service around the trails SSKL 2022

To develop new accommodations, dining experiences, and activities along the hiking trails in Norrbotten's coastal area, Solanderleden Non-Profit Association initiated the project Strengthened service around the trails. Interest in both long-distance hiking and local tourism is growing, but access to services along the trails does not always keep up. The project aimed to find out what is missing and inspire new investments.

Three inspiration seminars on the theme live, eat, and do were held during the spring of 2023. They attracted many participants from associations, businesses, and rural development groups. ”Participants want to get a lot of hands-on” noted the project management after the seminars. At the same time, a survey and in-depth interviews were conducted with stakeholders in the area to map needs and ideas.

The result is a concrete development plan that provides guidance for the future, both for Solanderleden and other trails such as Skridfinnarleden and the archipelago trails. The project has also led to new contacts, knowledge, and an increased willingness to invest in the tourism industry.

The association is planning a follow-up project where participants can receive support to realize their ideas.
