Test your idea – ACTIVITIES in the rural areas Youth
Here you can do a first test of your project idea within the micro support Activities in the rural areas – youth and get some information about what you should consider to have the greatest possible opportunities to get an approved project. Click on each question to get more information.
Will you carry out an activity within culture and/or leisure?
Within the micro-grant Activities in the rural areas – youth, the focus is on the implementation of various activities by and for young people aged 13-24 years. This can involve a festival, a theater performance, a motor gathering, a skating competition, or some other event. The activity should take place at one or a few occasions. We would like you to plan to continue with the activity even after your project. Consider the project as an opportunity to kickstart something you can continue with later.
Is the activity initiated and driven by young people aged 13-24 years?
Within the micro-grant Activities in the rural areas – youth, the focus is on the implementation of various activities by and for young people aged 13-24 years. This means that the idea for the activity should come from young people in that age group, and the target group for the actual activity should also primarily be young people. By young people, for young people. An opportunity to create the activities that are missing.
Will you carry out the activity in the rural area in our geographical region?
We can grant support to projects carried out in our geographical area. Leader Spira Mare consists of the municipalities of Boden, Kalix, Luleå, Piteå, and Älvsbyn. The central parts of Luleå and Piteå are excluded as they are not considered rural areas. For exact boundaries here, contact the leader office.
Is the idea new to you?
All leader projects should create development in the area. This means that the activity you want to carry out should be something new for your organization and in your area. Unfortunately, you cannot receive leader support for regular operations such as maintenance and upkeep or already existing activities with you.
Please consult the leader office if you are unsure where your idea fits and if it is innovative compared to your regular operations.
Will it be free for those who participate?
In the micro-grant Activities in the rural areas – youth, all activities should be open to everyone in the target group and completely free. You receive support from us to make it possible to be free and to try something new. When the project is completed and you want to continue with the activity, you can of course have income to finance a continuation.
Do you have a specified budget of max 27,000 SEK including VAT?
To apply for micro support, you must submit a specified budget that clearly shows what you will use the money for.
Expenses that qualify for support are those expenses that have a clear connection to your activity. For example, if you need to purchase some folding tables for your flea market, mixed stage costumes for you to carry out a theater performance, a microphone and speakers for the karaoke night, or a bunch of games for the game club and perhaps print posters or have an advertisement for the activity. It is also fine to offer snacks or food (but you cannot charge for it). If it is clear that you need to purchase an external service, such as a speaker or an artist, that can also qualify for support, but it needs to be clearly stated why this cost is necessary.
If you are going to provide snacks, you should budget and report the snacks as a cost of a maximum of 67 SEK/person. When you report, you should also include a participant list for those who had snacks (in addition to the receipt). If you are going to provide food, you should budget and report the food as a unit cost of 112 SEK. When you report, you should also include a participant list for those who had food.
If you need to drive a car in the project, for example to purchase materials or pick up equipment, you can be reimbursed for bus tickets and similar or report the miles driven with your own car in a mileage log. Travel with your own car is budgeted and reported as a unit cost of 40 SEK/mile.
Costs that do not qualify for support are various personnel costs, such as salaries and fees for those of you who carry out the activity. Instead, you should account for this as voluntary time (you can read more about that below).
It is also not possible to receive support for internal invoices; it needs to be external purchases.
If you are unsure, it is always better to ask us beforehand so we can advise you already in the application process.
Is there a plan for how the project will be implemented?
Even though micro-support is a smaller project with a simplified application process, you need to have a proper plan for the implementation of your project. One or more activities involve work before, during, and after the activity. And when everything is completed, you should submit a final report to us at the Leader office, where you tell us what you have done and submit receipts and invoices for what you have paid, as well as proof of payment from the bank showing that the expenses have been paid by you. We are here to support you, but it is good to plan for it will take some time to implement a project. Make sure to have a project group responsible for carrying out the project together so it will be fun throughout the project. The project group can include one or more adults who can serve as support, but it is young people who should be the initiators and driving force.
Is there a voluntary commitment in the project?
All projects within Leader Spira Mare must include voluntary time and/or voluntary resources. This can be, for example, the voluntary time spent working on the project, facilities you can borrow at no cost for the project, or anything else that is not funded by the project. Our goal is for all projects to include 30 % voluntary time and/or voluntary resources. The inclusion of voluntary engagement in the projects is one of the reasons why you can be fully funded in your projects. We value your time instead of money.
